Information on the founder, doctrine, and curricula of Equipped for Life Ministries.

  • Equipped for Life Ministries was founded in 2003 by B. Dale Taliaferro. Dale Taliaferro has been teaching the Bible in churches, on university campuses, in conference rooms, and in homes, both in the United States and overseas, for thirty-six years. He has been a staff member and a director of campus and business ministries, and he has served as a senior pastor. For additional background information, refer to his curriculum vitae.

  • The doctrine of Equipped for Life Ministries is broadly consistent with classic statements of orthodox Christian faith, including the Apostle’s Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Lausanne Covenant. For additional information on specific beliefs, refer to Equipped for Life Ministries’ doctrinal statement.

  • Equipped for Life Ministries has developed curricula on the Christian Life and on Biblical Theology. These curricula are listed and described briefly below. Dale Taliaferro teaches on many other topics as well; for a current schedule click here. For additional information on curricula and speaking engagements, email us at teaching@e-l-m.org.

The Christian Life Series teaches believers to walk with God as they encounter the joys and trials of life. The Series is a six-lesson study that may be taught in a variety of contexts, including church worship services, Sunday school classes, home Bible studies, conferences, and retreats. It can be taken over a weekend or incrementally over a six week period. There are five parts to the study, the first requiring two sessions: Mindset, Will, Emotions, Fellowship, and Growth.

Biblical and Theological Training is a two-year study of the entire Bible. The study assigns homework and requires at least one weekly class lasting three-and-a-half hours.

The Spiritual Gifts curriculum studies the spiritual gifts that are specifically named in Scripture. The study helps participants identify their spiritual gifts and understand their gifts’ strengths and weaknesses. Some attention is given to the four controversial “sign gifts.”

The Marriage and Family Seminar teaches young couples about husband and wife roles, raising children, child discipline, family planning, and prioritization.

The Christian Liberty curriculum provides four principles for navigating the “gray” areas of the Christian life, including the selection of church music, Halloween participation, dancing, drinking, smoking, reading Christian “love novels,” and more.
